Let's begin our journey by simplifying the most sophisticated machine ever designed...the human body.
My approach is that the body is connected through the Mind, Fuel given to it, and the Motion it performs. Any of these 3 cannot survive without the other 2 and they can all influence each other. We will break each of these parts down so that you can apply these concepts to your personal goals. Make sure that you check out all the related articles and links.
MIND
When it comes to trying to make changes in your life such as losing weight, running a marathon, gaining muscle, the first thing that you need to do is decide what it is you are trying to accomplish and an even bigger question is why? Before going on, I want you to answer these questions. Just don't answer them in your head, write them down.
- What is your goal? Be specific. Do not answer that "I just want to get in shape." What does getting "in shape" mean to you?
- Why? Give me 3 reasons why.
- When do you want to accomplish your goals by? Pick a realistic date.
- What is going to keep you motivated and on track? There will definitely be road blocks along the way, how are you going to stay focused?
- Do you have a plan?
- Who is in your front row? (Answer this after you have read the article - "Theater of Life" under the MIND category or Download theatre_of_life.wps ").
Some of these are tough questions. Succeeding at a fitness program requires us to understand ourselves and what drives us. Sometimes we are not honest with ourselves so the answers to these questions might change as we begin our transformation. Always remember...
"Happiness is a journey, not a destination."
